The AIRROC NextGen Task Force continues to evolve in order to optimize operations and improved effectiveness. The Task Force was formed in early 2020 during a pivotal time where prolonged remote working arrangements were not anticipated. While the original committee structure was focused on translating the Task Force’s mission statement into actionable functional areas, the changing work environment has made resource deployment a bit challenging. In order to be more responsive to the changing environment, and to better attract new members, the NextGen Task Force has decided to establish a more fluid, flexible committee structure as follows:
- NextGen Task Force Co-Chairs and Governance Committee: Matt DiSanto and Nate Zwick
- Education and Social Events Co-Chairs: Kathryn Reynolds and Jessica Groenewegen
- Communications and Digital Content Co-Charis: Sunny Liu, Anthony D’Ambrosio, and Grant Donkervoet
The new structure allows the Task Force to be more nimble as it grows and evolves. The new structure also creates more opportunities for new member engagement – instead of greater departmentalization and having to choose which specific area to get involved, new members can choose a broad topic of interest. In addition, the new structure is less hierarchical and gives the Task Force members broader exposure and allows better resource allocation to fulfill organizational objectives.
Following the restructuring of the Task Force, the Events Committee held its first meeting with representations from five AIRROC member companies. Participants showed strong interests in planning education events, catered to young professionals, with topics covering the development of both soft skills and technical skills. Also in June, the Communications Committee met for the first time to introduce each other and brainstorm on content creation for the NextGen’s social media presence.
