AIRROC has announced its board leadership for 2025. The officers are Chair Tom Mendralla (Swiss Re), First Vice Chair Dawn Ballin (Enstar), and Second Vice Chair Stewart Richmond (RiverStone Group). The board supporting officers are Marianne Petillo (ROM) as Treasurer, Megan McHugh (Brandywine) as Secretary, and Robert Romano along with Victoria Corder (Norton Rose) as the association’s General Counsel.
The Chair and Vice Chairs collectively serve as AIRROC’s Executive Committee, along with Executive Director Carolyn Fahey. Tom Mendralla is Vice President and Portfolio Management Lead Expert Legacy at Swiss Re. Dawn Ballin is Senior Vice President and Head of Claims for Enstar (US), while Stewart Richmond is Director Assumed Reinsurance at RiverStone. Each member has a longstanding involvement with AIRROC, contributing both as board members and in leadership roles on key committees within the organization. The board leaders serve one-year terms, with the next officer in succession advancing annually.
AIRROC also welcomes three new Directors elected by the membership: Elaine Caprio (R&Q Re in Liquidation), Marcus Doran (AIG) and Jane Newton (Xitus).
- Elaine Caprio is a re-insurance company executive and officer with 35 years of experience managing re-insurance operations and forging resolutions to U.S. and International business disputes. Working with the Pennsylvania Liquidation Bureau, Elaine is the Chief Reinsurance Officer for R&Q Re (in Liquidation), valuing proofs of claim as well as recovering outwards reinsurance and managing set offs.
- Marcus Doran is the Global Head of Legacy Solutions for AIG, responsible for the oversight and development of strategic exit solutions for AIG’s legacy exposures. He coordinates resources to manage the resolution of legacy liabilities and oversee legacy assumed reinsurance claims. In addition, Marcus oversees the direct handling of assumed and ceded commutations and governance of commutations completed at a business or local level.
- Jane Newton is the CFO of Xitus Insurance holdings and its subsidiaries, Xitus Re Ltd. and Xitus Ireland DAC and other intermediary holding companies within the group. She is responsible for the full finance function of the Xitus Group, overseeing audits, internal audits, drafting business plans and liaison with Insurance managers. She also assists the Xitus M&A team in assessing new opportunities.
