Back in March we announced the addition of five new members — some who were spotlighted over the last two months (Great American, Hannover Re, and RiverStone International). Since that time, we have added another new member, bringing the total to six new members in the first quarter of 2024. Wow! As we all know, relationships in this industry are key and AIRROC’s emphasis on expanding our network is paying dividends.
AIRROC is pleased to welcome and introduce you to three more of the new 2024 members — EMC Re, Augment Risk and Global Re Group. We are delighted to have these companies on board and look forward to working together with ALL of our members to contribute to AIRROC’s mission and support our shared community of legacy professionals.
- EMC Insurance Companies is in the top 60 property/casualty organizations in the United States and is one of the largest in Iowa, based on net written premium. Founded in 1911, EMC began assuming a limited amount of reinsurance in the 1950s before establishing EMC Re in 1981. Business was conducted mostly, but not exclusively, through the reinsurance broker market. The company wrote property, casualty and multiline reinsurance on both an excess of loss and pro rata basis. In September of 2022, EMC’s management made a strategic decision to focus on core direct insurance operations and EMC Re ceased writing business in January 2023.
