I hope that you are all keeping safe and well in these challenging and unprecedented times. As you may expect, lots of events and initiatives we had planned have been impacted given the circumstances. You can keep up to date on the status of our programs on our website.
A few items to note include the cancellation of the June 1 Chicago Regional and the July 14-15 Summer Membership Meeting in New York. We plan to add webinar presentations for several of the sessions that were planned at both of these events. Look for more details to be coming soon.
Our webinar series on April 22 (Introduction to Property/Casualty Reinsurance), April 29 (Overview of Runoff), and May 6 (Arbitration/Litigation Basics) have been very popular with registration numbers exceeding 225 for each session. We are also working on a custom training initiative with one of AIRROC’s members to bring this training in house for them. Interested in this for your company? Let me know!
The Runoff Deal Market Forum which was planned for June 10 in New York is going virtual and will take place from 11:00 – 1:00 eastern time that same day. We are working on the schedule now and registration will open next week so stay tuned…
We continue to add new content to AIRROCMatters.org on a regular basis. Have an article you’d like us to add or an event that you want to publicize? Send me the information so that we can help!
I have been able to continue to support the industry and educate about legacy by speaking at a number of virtual programs.
- A recorded session for CICA (Captive Insurance Companies Association) titled “Exit Solutions for Captives” with co-panelists Michael Terelmes from Sirius and Steve McElhiney from Artex.
- On May 12 an interview with R&Q’s Paul Corver for Captive Review’s Symposium Series.
- Also, on May 12 several members of our Actuarial Committee – Andre Lefebvre, Arrowpoint; Travis Grulkowski, Milliman; and Sandy Santomenno, Willis – and I, are presenting a session on “Managing Legacy Risks In 2020” as part of the CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) Spring Virtual Meeting.
- Later in the year AIRROC is speaking at the National Risk Retention Association, the TN Captive Insurance Association, and at IRLA’s Congress.
The board and I are committed to innovate and find ways that we can continue to serve our members and partners and support you though this time. What else can we do? We’d love to hear from you.
We appreciate your support of AIRROC. When times are tough AIRROC and the full insurance and legacy sector has proven to be successful at adapting. We are fortunate be supported by innovative professionals and are certain that we will all get through this together.
Stay safe and well – and keep in touch!
